Exploring The Waves

Exploring The Waves – Between Sound Art and Music is a guest lecture held at Solent University in Southampton moderated by Sie Medway-Smith.
Starting from Matthew Herbert’s statement “Everything can be Music” the lessons examines the use of so called “noise” as a sound source for creative purposes through recent history, overlooking the work of masters like John Cage, Luigi Nono, Pierre Schaeffer, Einsturzende Neubauten and others.

The lesson is then followed by a Foley workshop where classes of students are forming a found sound orchestra for a live improvisation on 1982 short-movie “Tango” by Zbigniew RybczyƄski.
